Hello, I’m Amber Root. I’m a single mom of two and a self-taught photographer. I’ve always loved photography, even as a child. I grew up on a farm where I raised hundreds of show rabbits, and I had photos of every one of them that I took with my little Kodak Advantix camera.

In February 2009 I bought myself a birthday gift that I had always dreamed of having… a nice, professional DSLR camera, the Canon Rebel T1i. I wanted to learn everything about my new favorite toy, so I bought every book I could find about my camera and about photography in general… and I read them all cover to cover. When I wasn’t reading I was out playing with my camera, and when I got confident about using it I started Amber Root Photography. Fast forward to today… I’ve shot more than 3 million photos, and I shoot exclusively in full manual mode on my camera. That means I have full control over every aspect of every photo I take, and I can do whatever I want with my camera! 

I am an artist, and my camera is my paintbrush.
